I have been trying to think of easy meals after cooking so much food for Zo's graduation party and graduation BBQ. I really just need a break from being over a hot grill or in front of an oven. Last night I said "How about some Smoked Salmon Lox?" Zo said, "OH! Sounds Yummy!" Hope you enjoy this tasty prepared treat!
Ingredients:
4 oz Cured Aderwood Smoked Salmon Steaks
8 oz Cream cheese
4 tsp Capers
2 tsp Fresh Basil (diced)
2 tsp Fresh Italian Parsley (diced)
1 tsp Fresh Chives (diced)
1/2 tsp dried Oregano
2 tsp Jalapeno (seeded and diced)
2 tbsp Sweet onion
2 bagels cut in half or we like to serve ours over toasted Sourdough bread slices
(Lemon slices are a nice garnish)
In a small bowl thoroughly mix all ingredients except salmon by hand. using a butter knife spread mixture evenly over 4 bagel halves (or over four slices of your favorite toasted bread.) Flake off small pieces of the Salmon and spread over top of mixture. Serve right away! We've had this for breakfast, lunch and even dinner (add a lemon garnish to fancy it up for dinner.)
A-ha.. So this is salmon lox you mentioned before, and I just see it now. Checked your ingredients, yummy photo of dish and drool-murmured to myself "I'd nom that!"
