As of late I have made it my personal mission to show that imitation crab can be used in very gourmet ways. I remember growing up I always loved imitation crab but living on the Gulf Coast that is basically a sin punishable by being whipped with a red snapper! Why eat imitation crab when you can eat real crab? Because I like how they have made Alaskan Pollock taste! That is why! And you can make some very interesting meals with imitation crab due to its firm texture. So break out some imitation crab and impress your friends with its versatility!
8 oz imatation crab leg style (8 pieces)
4 slices bacon (sliced in half long ways)
1/4 tsp Smoked Paparkia
1/4 tsp essence
Pinch of kosher saltFresh crack pepper (to taste)
1/2 cup Yummy Sauce (Siriacha)
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Wrap each imitation crab leg with one of the split slices of bacon. Lay each fingerling on a nonstick baking sheet and sprinkle each evenly with all seasonings. Bake on middle rack for 10 minutes. Flip fingerlings with kitchen tongs and bake for 5 more minutes. Drizzle each with 2 tbsp of yummy sauce and bake for 5 additional minutes. Remove from oven and let cool for 2-3 minutes before serving hot, enjoy!
